Major Initiatives for Exposition Park
Exposition Park is experiencing a historic transformation, with over $2 billion invested in the past decade in new attractions including the future Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, the California Science Center’s Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center, and the Natural History Museum’s expansion. As the only site in modern world history to host three active Olympiads, the Park is preparing for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Backed by over $371 million in state funding since 2023, this revitalization to the state property will enhance public spaces, sustainability, and economic growth—creating a lasting legacy for Los Angeles and beyond.
A Bright Future for Exposition Park
Exposition Park is experiencing an incredible chapter of transformation that will capture the world’s attention even before the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. In its journey toward becoming a world-class destination to expand upon its existing world-class museums and venues, active construction projects are underway for future attractions—the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, the California Science Center Oschin Air and Space Center Space Shuttle Endeavour exhibition. Together, these projects will increase the Park’s activity by millions of additional visitors expected in the next few years.

Modernizing Exposition Park Toward the LA 2028 Olympic, Paralympic Games, and Beyond
Exposition Park will soon experience the global spotlight as the only site in world history to host three active Olympiads with the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games on-site, as well as potential 2026 FIFA World Cup Fan Fests. To accommodate the millions of anticipated visitors, Exposition Park must update its facilities and transform into a site of the future. Infrastructure improvements and related investments are needed to support additional management and coordination of park services, increased operational capacity, parking, and open space for the public.

This park project represents the single, the largest green infrastructure investment the State has made in the community of South Los Angeles.
The Exposition Park Foundation is seeking to support Exposition Park. All projects funded through the Foundation will aim to create local jobs and economic development in the area that will have significant impacts on the local community and leave a lasting legacy for the next 100 years.
