About Exposition Park

Exposition Park is a gem located in the heart of Los Angeles and one of California’s most visited destinations, with nearly 8 million visitors annually. It is an urban park that is home to some of Southern California’s most recognizable sports, entertainment, cultural, educational, science, artistic, and historical landmarks. Exposition Park was established as an agricultural fairground in 1872 and began its transformation in 1910 to become the park we see today.

The over 150-year-old state property is home to nine notable institutions, including two state museums–the California African American Museum and the California Science Center; the Los Angeles City EXPO Center and Argue Swim Stadium and historic Rose Garden, the Alexander Jr. Science Center (LAUSD) School, the BMO Stadium, the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, the Los Angeles County Natural History Museum, and the upcoming Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. The 160-acre sprawling campus also includes vibrant public green lawns and open areas serving the local community.
