The Exposition Park Foundation Board of Directors is dedicated to shaping the future of Exposition Park as a world-class destination and a vibrant community hub. With a shared vision for growth, sustainability, and public engagement, our board members bring a wealth of experience from diverse industries, including public policy, real estate, environmental advocacy, and community development.
Our board members and strategic advisors are committed to expanding access to green space, fostering economic opportunity, and ensuring Exposition Park remains a beacon of culture, recreation, and innovation for generations to come.
Our Vision & Legacy
The Exposition Park Foundation will set the legacy for the next 100 years for the Park to become a destination for all Californians and global visitors to immerse themselves in art, culture, entertainment, science and sports.


Ms. Andrea Ambriz
Ms. Ambriz has a life-long connection to Exposition Park and believes in the important role it plays in building healthy, vibrant and safe communities. She is a tireless advocate for community engagement and providing green equity and access to the public.
Ms. Ambriz was appointed General Manager of Exposition Park by California Governor Gavin Newsom and brings more than 20 years of experience working in community and policy development and engagement. Prior to serving as General Manager, Ms. Ambriz was Deputy Secretary of External Affairs at the California Natural Resources Agency and previously served as Chief Operating Officer at River LA.
She also formerly held notable roles in the labor/private sector and U.S. federal government, including as White House Deputy Director of Private Sector Engagement and at the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
Ms. Ambriz serves on the Board of the Los Angeles Fire and Police Pension Commission and the Municipal Improvement Corporation of Los Angeles among others. She is a Los Angeles native, and earned undergraduate degrees from DePaul University, and holds a Master of Public Policy degree from the University of California, Berkeley.


Mr. Andrew Tavakoli
Mr. Tavakoli believes in leaving a better Los Angeles than what he found and has invested millions into charitable projects and organizations, including supporting the higher education opportunities for veterans and business and community leadership development programs.
As Board Vice Chair, Mr. Tavakoli’s vision is to maximize Exposition Park’s unique position and leverage public-private partnerships to transform it into a world-class destination that includes Olympic legacy projects that would leave a public benefit for future generations of Angelinos.
His experience in real estate development will be instrumental in helping meet the infrastructure needs and renovations the Park needs to host the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games and position itself to compete for other world-class sporting events like the FIFA World Cup Fan Festivals.
Andrew earned a MSBA in finance from University of Southern California in 1986, a MBA in marketing from California State University Long Beach in 1983, and BSEE degree in computer systems from University Pittsburgh in 1981.


Ms. Patricianna (Patty) Rhee
Ms. Rhee believes that Exposition Park’s transformation should be rooted in creating an urban open space in the heart of the city that welcomes all Angelinos to experience history, science, sports, art, and entertainment.
Her previous experience as Chief Partnerships Officer for the Global Methane Hub and work in establishing working coalitions of dozens of large philanthropies and non-government has been instrumental in launching and establishing the Exposition Park Foundation, ensuring it has the structure, partnerships, and resources needed to drive the Park’s transformation.
Ms. Rhee obtained her BA degree in Sociology from the University of California at Davis, and is a graduate of the Georgetown University Government Affairs Institute.


Mr. David McNeill
With over 20 years of real estate, public outreach, and administration experience, Mr. McNeill has helped re-imagine the outdoor landscape in underserved communities. Since 2001, he has led a wide range of land acquisition, planning and design efforts culminating in the creation of community-based pocket parks, citizen science, habitat restoration, multi-benefit water quality projects, regional recreation facilities, as well as miles of trails providing access to parkland for the most diverse and densely populated neighborhoods in the State.
As a founding member of the Los Angeles Neighborhood Land Trust, and a supporter of local non- profits, he has been a driving force behind implementing urban environmental initiatives such as the City of L.A.’s landmark Walking to the Park Report and L.A. Audubon Society’s Baldwin Hills Greenhouse Internship Program, California’s Access for All, and LA’s Countywide Parks Needs Assessment. Through his work, Mr. McNeill strives to bridge community, public and private partnerships to help sustain new park projects and inspire the next generation of open space stewards.
David is a graduate of Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science in Speech Communication and a minor in Human Services. He has served as a member of the City of Los Angeles Recycled Water Advisory Group, Safe, Clean Water Stakeholder Advisory Committee, South Coast Air Quality Management District Environmental Justice Advisory Group, L.A. County Appointee to the Community Advisory Panel for the Baldwin Hills Community Standards District Overlay Zone, Board of Directors forthe California Invasive Plant Council, and Board of Directors for Nature Nexus Institute.


Ms. Linda Griego
In 2016, she founded the non-profit MLK Health and Wellness Community Development Corporation focused on the 42-acre MLK Medical Campus in South Los Angeles. Infrastructure projects include the newly opened Jacqueline Avant Children Center that houses the MLK Pediatric Clinic which serves 4,000 children and teens in foster care; and the renovated MLK Behavioral Health Center (former hospital).
In 2022, Ms. Griego was awarded the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Civic Medal of Honor for her work at the MLK Medical Campus and decades of civic leadership in Los Angeles.
Her entrepreneurial career includes real estate development and historical renovation of an abandoned 1912 firehouse in downtown Los Angeles into offices and a prominent 136-seat restaurant, Engine Co. No. 28, that she operated for over twenty years. She also developed and operated two other restaurants and two bakeries in LA; and a fishing lodge in Chama NM.
Ms. Griego's government service and appointments include Deputy of Mayor of Los Angeles in charge of economic development, President and CEO of the LA Community Development Bank focused on a HUD empowerment zone; and President and CEO of Rebuild LA, the entity charged with rebuilding following the 1992 Civil Unrest. In her early career, she was a congressional staffer for a U.S. Senator (CA) and a U.S. Congressman (NM) in Washington, D.C. She has also served on several commissions including most recently the Los Angeles County Economic Resiliency Taskforce, the LA Community Redevelopment Agency, Cultural Affairs Commission, Handicapped Access Commission, and the California Community College Board of Governors.
She serves on the board of directors of media and entertainment conglomerate Paramount Global (former Viacom CBS). She has served on several boards of directors including Capital Group/American Funds, AECOM, Granite Construction, Southwest Water Company, City National Bank, First Interstate Bank: and the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco (Los Angeles director). Service on non-profit boards of directors including the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital, Cedars Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, the LA Convention Center, the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles, and the Community Development Technologies Center.
For more than two decades, Ms. Griego has served as a trustee of philanthropic foundations, including the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, and the Ralph M. Parsons Foundation. She also served as a trustee of the boards of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science and Art Center College of Design.
Ms. Griego holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from UCLA. In 2008, she was awarded the UCLA Medal, the highest honor bestowed by the university. She serves on the UCLA Iris Cantor Women's Health Center; and is a former senior fellow of the UCLA School of Public Policy. In 2020, she and her husband moved back to her native New Mexico after forty years in California. Ms. Griego recently joined the advisory board of the UNM Innovate Albuquerque focused on economic development and job creation.
